During lockdown the choir ran a successful Zoom rehearsal facility. We would always be open to considering new and different approaches to extending our repertoire. We have sung most of the standard choral works, some show and lighter music and also more challenging and varied works. We do not audition but we do strive for quality performances. ![]() The choir welcomes all who enjoy singing and have a love of music, although an ability to read music does help. The MD chooses the repertoire, prepares and rehearses the choir and also conducts these two concerts. Some concerts are with small orchestras or ensembles, others with keyboard accompaniment, and with professional soloists as required. These are usually held in the Arts venue of St Mary’s Church, Sandwich, which enjoys a good acoustic. We generally aim for 2 public concerts a year. At present rehearsals take place in the Music Department at Sir Roger Manwood’s School in Sandwich CT13 9JX on each Thursday during term time from 7:30-9:15pm, with an Accompanist. The choir has been established for over 30 years and has about 30 current members. Ideally the appointment would commence at the beginning of the spring term in January 2023.
